The greater part of the world is unable to see the Norther Lights.
However, we can see that and want to share this phenomenon with you.
On February 18th 2011 we have some photographs from the Northern Lights put on our blog.
Now can you see a video of the Northern Lights.
The video was made in Tromsø, Norway.

This video was on November 24th 2010 "Astronomy Picture of the Day" on the website of NASA, they find that you must watch this video from North Norway.

Wij echter kunnen het wel zien en willen dit fenomeen met jullie delen.
Op 18 februari 2011 hebben we een aantal foto's van het Noorderlicht op onze blog gezet.
Nu kun je een video zien van het Noorderlicht.
De video is gemaakt in Tromsø, Noorwegen.

The Polar Night has ended, the Sun is rising like Autumn Jade

Today January 5 at noon, the Polar Night has ended,

the sun is rising again with a ray above the horizon.

You can take out the bikini from the closet,

but we still wait here until the snow is gone.

Vandaag, 5 januari, om 12.00 uur in de middag is de Poolnacht geëindigd,

de zon komt weer met een lichtstraal boven de horizon uit.

Je kan de bikini uit de kast halen,

al moeten we toch nog even wachten totdat hier de sneeuw weg is.

Yule / Midwinter / Winter Solstice

With Yule, Midwinter or Winter Solstice, the sun is at its lowest point,

so it is the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

It is the culminaton of the winter.

Yule is always round December 22.

The Winter Solstice marks the time when

the hours of darkness are at their peak.

It is also a turning point, after this day, the days get longer.

The Winter Solstice is a time of inspiration, looking ahead, 

a new beginning, exuberance and a little mischief.

Met Yule, Midwinter of Winterzonnewende staat de zon

op zijn laagste punt, daarom is het de 

kortste dag en de langste nacht van het jaar.

Het is het hoogtepunt van de winter.

Yule is altijd rond 22 december.

De Winterzonnewende markeert de periode dat

de uren van duisternis op hun hoogtepunt zijn.

Het is echter ook een keerpunt, na deze dag gaan de dagen weer lengen.

De Winterzonnewende is een tijd van inspiratie, vooruitblikken,

een nieuw begin, uitgelatenheid en een beetje kattekwaad.

This afternoon, december 7, we had the last sunset at 12 o'clock, 

the Polar Night has began.

This continues until january 5,
then the sun rises again over the horizon.

Vanmiddag, 7 december, om 12.00 uur hebben we de laatste zonsondergang gehad,

de Poolnacht is begonnen.

Deze duurt tot 5 januari,
dan komt de zon weer boven de horizon uit.
